Message from the Chair – Jon Gould, MD

I would like to thank everyone who has supported the work of the Collaborative. I have been the Chair of SCW’s Executive Committee since its inception in 2017. Over the last year we have engaged over 54 hospitals, and more than 250 providers in an effort to work together to improve surgical quality for all Wisconsin residents.

 

Summer Meeting – Representative David Murphy will offer comments at Upcoming Meeting

Wisconsin Representative David Murphy accepted our offer to speak regarding Wisconsin’s healthcare priorities at our upcoming summer meeting in Arbor Vitae, WI on July 18-19.

SCW Updates – Rural Task Force Launches

As part of the spring virtual meeting, Jill Ties, MD spoke on the role of rural surgery and officially launched the SCW Rural Task Force!

 

Policy News – Wisconsin Delegation Urges CMS to Include Surgical Collaborative in the Opioid Solution

In May 2019, multiple members of the Wisconsin delegation sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator requesting that they consider broad stakeholder involvement in the agency’s implementation of the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act.
