Reducing Postoperative Opioid Prescribing
One of the most impactful initiatives led by SCW is the opioid prescribing reduction initiative. SCW’s work to support surgeons in their efforts to reduce opioid prescribing kicked off April 6, 2018 with a webinar focused on identifying the problem and exploring alternative post surgical pain management options.
Post-Operative Opioid Prescribing Reports Now Available!
We are excited to announce that post-operative opioid prescribing reports for calendar years 2018 and 2020 have been loaded in the learning management system (LMS) for the following procedures: laparoscopic cholecystectomy, breast procedures, appendectomy, and inguinal hernia repair!
About SCW’s LMS
The SCW Learning Management System is a software application that facilitates e-learning and allows administrators to track learning processes. The system stores important documents, courses, and allows for collaboration between members. SCW will use the LMS to deliver performance reports, share resources and materials, and interact and move our initiatives forward. In addition, members of the LMS will have access to different courses and documents.
New Addition to the SCW Team
Bailey Nolting joined the Surgical Collaborative of Wisconsin as a Communications Intern in May 2021. This month, she will transition to the position of Communications Specialist. She will assist with social media, email marketing, and event planning.
