Hosted by the Surgical Collaborative of Wisconsin, the National Surgical Collaborative Summit will feature the work of surgical collaboratives in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. Using the example of statewide initiatives to reduce post-operative opioid prescribing, the summit will highlight the impact of collaboratives on broader public health issues. Topics will include an overview of statewide surgical collaboratives, highlights of current opioid prescribing initiatives and appropriate alternative pain management options, testimonials from local surgeons involved in collaborative work, and testimonials from surgeons throughout the country who are reducing opioid use in surgical settings
