Rural MAPs

Jessica Schumacher, PhD, SCW Director of Data and Analytics, was selected to be a member of the National Quality Forum (NQF) Rural Health Workgroup. The Measure Application Partnership (MAP) is a multi-stakeholder partnership that guides the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on the selection of performance measures for federal health programs i.e. Medicare and Medicaid.

The MAP Rural Health Workgroup is working to identify gaps in measure development, recommend measures, and encourage measure alignment for rural areas. Rural-relevant measures recommended by the MAP Rural Health Workgroup will allow for reliable and valid comparisons across providers. As part of the MAP workgroup, Dr. Schumacher will work on updating the core set of best available rural-relevant measures for rural providers, and providing recommendations from a rural and surgical perspective regarding appropriate and relevant measures in the surgical space.

We are very excited for her to be a member of the MAP Rural Health Workgroup!
